I feel like people either LOVE their pantry or LOATHE their pantry. It seems like such a polarizing space. If you want to fall in love with your pantry space every time you open it, and you want an easy-to-follow guide, I’m here for you. Let’s dive in.
Step One: Start from Scratch
This is the first step I always start with whenever I’m working on a space. I find it to be far less overwhelming to start with a blank canvas. Remove everything, and give it a nice clean to begin fresh. Personally, I make my projects as inconvenient as possible so they don’t drag on for weeks. I find it much more difficult to finish a project if I do piece by piece over a long period of time. In this case, I put everything on my kitchen island so it’s in the way and I have to deal with it. Bonus if you can carve out some time alone for this (if you have kids like me and you have access to childcare, use it!).
Step Two: Discarding
This step is the easiest and most straightforward. Get rid of anything expired (These items are perfect for sensory bins!), give away food you won’t use. Take note of items you keep purchasing and not using. Be honest about what you’ll actually use up and what you keep on hand just in case, but those times never come. That’s good food that could be used by someone else before it expires in your pantry!
Step Three: Planning
